Conoclinium dissectum (Gregg's Mistflower)
Gregg’s Mistflower is an amazing plant in its ability to attract butterflies in large numbers. Its fuzzy blue flowers seem irresistible to Queen butterflies and many others. It is a true butterfly magnet and an absolute must-have in any butterfly garden. It prefers sunny or partially sunny spots and will reward you with an abundance of blooms. It spreads by roots and is considered aggressive by some, but that is less likely the case if you give appropriate room to begin with and water deeply but infrequently. Mistflower can otherwise be controlled by removing undesirable growth. It also plays well with others and can be interplanted with shrubby perennials such as Shrubby Boneset, Turk’s Cap, or Texas Lantana.
