Erioneuron pilosum (Hairy Woollygrass)

Hairy Woollygrass conforms to a short-grass prairie garden that is considered ornamentally attractive. It provides a good matrix in which to establish wildflowers. Winecup, Prairie Verbena, Four-nerve Daisy, Blanketflower and Missouri Primrose combine well in plantings with Hairy Woollygrass because the grass provides an interesting contrast with its texture. 

Hairly Woollygrass native habitat includes well-drained limestone, sand, and caliche soils. It plays important role in stabilizing soils that are too thin and dry to support other plants species.
