Ilex decidua (Possumhaw Holly)
$ 54.00
Looking for winter interest? Possumhaw Holly is an attractive deciduous shrub or small tree that flourishes in the winter. The interest is created by bright red berries that persist on the bare branches of the female plants. Possumhaw makes a handsome shrub and can be used as a specimen, as an accent, for screening, or in sunny spaces or bright woodland gardens. It needs well-draining soil and does not like wet feet, but otherwise it is not demanding. It is drought tolerant once established but does appreciate additional water in the summer. Birds and other wildlife relish its colorful berries.
